Q: Who are Lamplark?

A: Lamplark provides competitively priced, quality learning opportunities to adults of all abilities. We are highly experienced in delivering tuition in both the public and private sectors.

Q: What makes your courses different?

A: All of our courses focus on acquiring practical skills and techniques which can be transferred to a variety of personal and professional contexts. You’ll get plenty of opportunities to practice and develop those skills in a meaningful and structured way to deepen your knowledge and understanding. You’ll be learning in a safe, supportive and stimulating environment. Our trainers practice what they teach – not only will you receive quality tuition, you’ll also be encouraged to utilise your skills and natural creativity.

Q: How do you guarantee the quality of the teaching?

A: Lamplark’s team are all skilled, experienced, professional educators.  We have quality assurance procedures in place to ensure the standard of tuition and learning is maintained. The performance of our trainers is continually monitored and we limit the number of students for each course to ensure the standard of tuition is not compromised.

Q: How do you guarantee the quality of the course programme?

A: There are many reasons for the success of our courses not least the quality of the course content. Our education programme is always evolving.  We keep our courses relevant and up to date with latest teaching techniques and theories. Courses are regularly reviewed and re-written to keep pace with new research, processes and the changing needs of our students.

Q: What kind of people enrol on your courses?

A: Our students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and choose to study with us for a range of reasons. Many are looking to learn a new skill, explore a new hobby, express their creativity or learn something new for fun. Others are interested in enhancing their professional development, improve employment prospects or develop their own enterprise skills.

Q: Can you deliver individual tuition at my home/office?

A: Yes, we can deliver one to one tuition at your own premises, if you have the appropriate software already installed on your own computer.  If you wish to discuss this option further, please contact us.

Q: Can you deliver classes on your premises?

A: Our public courses can be delivered at one of our London locations in Clerkenwell (EC1), Deptford (SE8) or the Southbank (SE1). Each of these locations are easily accessible by public transport.  Alternatively we can deliver them at your premises.

Q: What if I can’t find a subject suitable for me?

A: If there is a particular skill or subject you want to learn, we can create a customised course tailored to your specific requirements.

There will be an additional charge to pay alongside the standard advertised course fee. If you wish to discuss this option further, please contact us.


Q: If I find the subject I’ve enrolled on isn’t suitable for me, can I get a refund?

A: Unfortunately refunds cannot be claimed once tuition has started.
We will only issue a refund if your written request is received by us at least 7 days before the tuition begins. We will charge a £10 refund administration fee. This does not affect your statutory rights. See our refund policy for more details.

Q: Will I get a refund if my class is cancelled?

A: Yes, if we do have to cancel a class, you will receive a full refund.

Q: Can I claim a refund if I miss a class?

A: No.  Non-attendance due to illness or for professional or personal reasons does not entitle you to a refund, extra tuition or a transfer (see our refund policy).

Attending your lessons

Q: What do I need for my first lesson?

A: For our digital art and social media courses, you can bring your laptop to classes.

Important: Due to Health & Safety and insurance regulations, students are not permitted to bring guests or children onto our premises.

Q: Do you have wheelchair access?

A: Unfortunately, we do not have wheelchair access at our Clerkenwell site. We are located on the first floor of an old building that can only be accessed by ascending a flight of stairs.

Q: How can I contact my course trainer?

A: You can email us and your message will be passed on to your tutor.

Q: What about attendance and punctuality?

A: Punctuality is very important as lesson times cannot be extended beyond the advertised finish time.  

Important: Due to Health & Safety and insurance regulations, students are not permitted to bring guests or children onto our premises.

Q: Will I receive a certificate after my course?

A: Yes, we’ll email you a personalised certificate on completion of your course. You will receive either a Certificate of Completion or a Certificate of Achievement, depending on the course you attended.

Our certificates act as valuable evidence to current/prospective employers of your skills, knowledge and professional development.

Q: What course can I do after I complete my current one?

A: Your tutor can assist you with choosing an appropriate course to enrol on.
